1999 in Knights Valley was a study in patience because of the cool growing season. Generally, a late season is something we like, because it gives the grapes more time to develop aroma, flavor and structural complexity on the vines. This was the case in 1999 - the warm October days came at an ideal time to help the Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon grapes get to the maturities we were looking for and the resulting wine shows the difference in more layers of aromas, full-mouthed fruit flavors and wonderfully supple tannins. -Ed Sbragia, Winemaster
