The proprietary Alluvium name pays homage to the alluvial soils of Knights Valley, a vineyard that has long been a magical place for me. The generous portion of Merlot results in intense cherry flavors and a plush mid-palate, while the Cabernet adds structure and a hint of freshly ground black pepper. I love the floral notes the Malbec brings to the blend, the delicate spice lent by the Petite Verdot, and the way the Cab Franc extends the finish of the wine.
