Winemaker's Notes

The 2010 First Class is a dark ruby colored wine that exhibits black cherry, vanilla and blueberry aromas with underlying scents of pencil shavings and toasty oak. Very ripe tannins and balanced acidity create a rich, velvety texture. This is a beautifully balanced, hedonistic wine that exhibits bing cherry, chocolate and vanilla custard flavors with undertones of sweet pipe tobacco. The exquisite balance of this wine makes it a very versatile wine with food.

This is a sexy, silky Pinot Noir with the depth to compliment rich meaty pastas as well as sauced meat entrees. It is wonderful with grilled or sauced Pacific Northwest salmon, rosemary grilled lamb, Dungeness crab cakes or savory dishes prepared with fresh mushrooms.

Critical Acclaim

"Fresh and vibrant, deftly playing its cherry, orange peel and black tea flavors against a veil of crisp tannins. Persists impressively on the expressive finish. "
93 Points

"Rich and smoky, this wine’s spicy bottom note derives from oak, grounded and focused by tarry notes that direct the energy of the fruit. For barbecued salmon."
90 Points
