Elegant, yet powerful. This is the classic Bordelaise wine. We don't make Bordeaux in California, but we can aim for some of their tannin structure and complexity. This wine starts out with a tight cassis and blackberry style of fruit that unfolds into layers of spice, smoke and elegant structure. Our Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced mainly up in the hills of the Dry Creek Valley and gives the structure and refined fruit quality that the mountain fruit is known for. We have added small amounts of other Bordeaux varieties for complexity and tactile differences in the palate. The Merlot gives the wine some softness and texture while the Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot add a higher, almost cranberry fruit note that delivers a little fresh "life" to the flavors.
