Alcohol By Volume: 14.5%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Very dark ruby color. Deep aromas of bright berries mixed with sweet toasty cedar notes. The flavors of cherries, berry pie and cola are abundant with great focus. The medium weight on the palette with balanced acidity lead the flavors through and beyond a supple, tannin laced finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Smooth, rich and layered, with rich blackberry, wild berry, cherry and raspberry flavors, shaded by light toasty oak and ending with a long, full, saturating finish. Drink now through 2013."
92 Points

"Like the winery's other 2010 Pinots, this one's seems sweet and jammy in raspberries, cherries and cola, with lots of caramelized new-oak tones. It definitely appeals for its opulence, but would benefit from greater subtlety."
90 Points

The atmosphere of Sonoma is decidedly laid back and down home country style. But in wines, they are keeping up with the...
