winemaker's notes:

Meiomi (May-oh-mee) is a Pinot Noir that gets its fruit from the most noteworthy coastal areas in California. The wine is crafted, lush, balanced and luxurious. Three of the California's most sought after coastal growing regions brilliantly meld together in this deeply flavored, stylish and truly balanced Pinot Noir; at its most fundamental core, it is an approachable, food friendly wine with a style and place all its own.

critical acclaim:

"Dark and rich, showing toasty mocha oak flavors, with a beam of wild berry, raspberry, cola, vanilla and spice. Long on the finish. Drink now through 2020."

Really big wine for a Pinot. Not overly complex. Big fruit and easy to drink. Went great with some salmon burgers. Yummy
rating (12/24/2012):
An excellent Pinot that is as good as, if not better than, many I've tried that are 2-3x the price.
rating (12/18/2012):
This is the lower price point pinot from Belle Glos. Fruity and a wonderful silky finish.

If you are like me and a cab drinker and your spouse likes a lighter wine than this is the wine for both! No need to open two different bottles but you may want to drink two of these! It is that good! Especially at under $20!!

This is my new favorite wine. It's perfect for spring in New England. It's warm and light. A deep taste but an airy body. I bought a half case thinking it would last....it's not gonna! Enjoy and have fun with this wine.
rating (3/12/2013):

Extremely complex, smooth and well balanced pinot for this price. An unusual blend from 3 very distinct and separate growing areas

rating (2/21/2013):
Very nice pinot noir, especially for the price. I typically prefer pinots from Oregon, but this one is almost as tasty and a great value. It's a nice change from my usual go-to wines, which are merlot and cabernet sauvignon.
Style:Smooth & Supple
rating (2/17/2013):
Dark purple. Too dark for a pinot. Nose is somewhat muted and indistinct at this point with only some stemminess and dark fruit. Tastey, but too big. Syrah lovers will like this pinot. Nice mouth feel. Palate is not complicated. Blackberries are predominant, vanilla oak is next, with a little cola and cherries in the background, and a little pinot funk and stemminess. Medium fine tannins carry the fairly long finish of black berry fruits. Perhaps not far off the mark for a Cali pinot, but lacks finesse and subtlety.

I really liked this Pinot! I am betting it gets better with some age, but it is good to go right now. It's fruity but also balanced for such a young wine. YUMMY!
rating (2/1/2013):

Lots of fruit on the nose, mostly fig and black currant. A little spice to break up the fruit is delicious as well!
rating (2/1/2013):
A well balanced and luxurious pinot noir. All of the flavors mix really well together. I don't usually enjoy red wine but this one was delightful.

Pinot for a Cab lover like me. It has a nice full dark berry flavor with the spice of a typical Pinot seamlessly blended. Taste out of it's price point. Pairs well with Turkey, Ribs, and Pork loin cutlets. Very nice.

wonderful deep red and full bodied. Not your average Pinot Noir. Big fruit and nice finish

OUTSTANDING Pinot for the price ... BUT WHY THE SCREW CAP? It really 'cheapens' the wine when others notice the cap. I would never give this bottle as a gift. :(

This wine ended up being a very good choice to go with Thanksgiving dinner. The slight spiciness in it went very well with both the turkey and the cranberry sauce. It's a good alternative for those of us who like red wines over whites.

quality pinot and my wife loves it so I bot it for her.
