Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Alcohol By Volume: 14.1%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Our Willamette Valley cuvée features fruit grown on select vineyard sites in Yamhill County. e wines benefit from the same integrity in the winemaking process as our estate wines. e sites are farmed sustainably and managed to very low yields. It is not fined or filtered.

It is a medium to full-bodied wine with sweet tannin, low acidity and an intriguing bouquet of "foresty" underbrush, redcurrants and black cherries. With a hint of Asian spices it has undeniable charm, silkiness and velvety texture. These are all hallmarks of the best 2009 Oregon Pinots and are well displayed in this wine.

Critical Acclaim

"Sleek and silky, with pretty cherry and mineral flavors that glide seamlessly through the long, vivid finish. This has depth, deft balance and welcome restraint. Drink now through 2017."
93 Points

"Vivid red. Sexy, expressive aromas of black raspberry, rose, Asian spices and mocha, with a hint of anise. Sappy and expansive on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors and notes of spicecake and candied flowers. Puts on weight with air and finishes with very good focus, length and subtle smokiness. This drinks very well right now. "
