Beaulieu Vineyard Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 1999
Cabernet Sauvignon
from Napa Valley, California
winemaker's notes:
Fine deep ruby black, nearly opaque color. Strong, minerally, loam and spice aromas with loads of black currant fruit and a hint of opulent new oak vanilla. Deeply constituted ripe black fruit flavors show a lot of briary-dusty notes as well, typical of Rutherford Cabernet. Rich and fleshy, with moderately full tannins and a strong ripe finish, this should age well for at least a decade, but is quite dense and delicious now.

The 1999 Rutherford was first introduced to me at the recomendation of the wine somalier at the famouse Boston Harbor Hotel. It was the Best full bodied red I had tasted in years. The wine is Jammy, full of rich body, a hint of chocolat and woderfully rich with a meat that was grilled with onions or a hint of barbacue. The wine leaves a smooth finish that makes you want more. It is very mature for such a young wine and I feel it would age well.
It gets a 94 on my rating.
I need a few cases as it will sure age well.
