Beaulieu Vineyard Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 1996

A classic Rutherford Cabernet! Solid ruby-violet color. Big Rutherford dust baked earth and cassis aromas with hints of roast coffee. These are suffused under lovely scents of mint and vanilla from the oak. The wine's medium full-bodied flavors reveal plush, sweet currant and blackberry fruit, velvety texture, and a distinctive and delicious hint of dark chocolate. The wine finishes with clean Cabernet fruit, not oak, and the spicy intensity typical of Rutherford Cabernet. Fleshy and upfront, this vintage of our Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon should age gracefully for up to a decade.
