winemaker's notes:
Medium, dark ruby-violet color. Opulent, sweet violet, raspberry and black pepper aromas with a hint of dark cocoa powder from the new oak. Showing medium-full body, the flavors are rich, succulent and balanced, with berry-pepper flavors echoing the aromas. Quite spicy, lush and round with medium tannins and good acidity. A great barbecue wine, and one that marries well with wild game or spicy pastas as well.

This wonderful Zin can easily compete with Zins twice this price range. It is bold and has it going on. BV is one of the oldest vineyards in CA and has gotten lost in the loop. Give it a try again, you will be happy with the results.
