Alcohol By Volume: 14.5%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Our 2007 Merlot captures Napa Valley's diverse terroir with complex layers of crushed summer berries, ripe plum, chocolate and spice. Bright acidity lifts the flavors, while supple tannins—enhanced by Cabernet Sauvignon—add structure and a plush mouthfeel. From the aromas through the smooth, lingering finish, vanilla-oak nuances mingle with the rich, dark-fruit expression. Grilled or roasted pork, duck, turkey, lamb and beef, especially if rubbed with sweet spices or juniper berries, make perfect pairings with our Merlot.
