Fruity & Smooth

Rich & Creamy

Full bodied wines that have typically undergone malo-lactic fermentation and/or spent time in oak.

Alcohol By Volume: 13.5%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Ample cedary shadings adorn sweet fruit. Creamy mocha notes layered over pie-cherry and stawberry flavors give the palate an almost milkshake quality. Then the wine switches gears and the cedary element takes over.

Critical Acclaim

"Made in a Chablis style, this Chardonnay is bone dry and crisp in acidity. The pineapple and peach flavors are integrated with stony minerals. It's not a complex wine, but is super-clean and zesty, a nice complement to shellfish, mushroom risotto or a perfectly roasted chicken. Editors' Choice."

Learn About BearBoat

Like the delightful bears on the label, BearBoat wines are suitable for any occasion. The cool climate of the Russian River Valley allows the grapes to retain acidity while slowly developing intense flavors.

Winemaker Raphael Brisbois, began his winemaking career in Alsace, France. His curiosity about wine has led him around the world. In 1997, he began to make BearBoat for Remy Cointreau USA. One of his guiding principles is to create a wine that can stand up to all types of food. His many years of experience and gut instinct make each and every bottle of BearBoat truly exceptional.

The Russian River is agricultural land. While there is a focus on wine, beyond the vineyards are many small, family-owned farms cultivating everything from cattle to...
