The 2005 vintage provided Basel with the perfect growing conditions to make this outstanding bottle of wine - their very first Estate bottling of Merlot.
Aged in 100% new French and American Oak for 19 months, it is dark red, saturated to the rim and has an exotic spice and Cedar nose with hints of Vanilla and dark fruits. This wine is massive in structure and the ripe tannins and acids are balanced beautifully by the purity of fruit and extraordinary richness. It should cellar for at least a decade if not more.
