Barons de Rothschild Reserve Speciale Bordeaux Blanc 2003
Bordeaux White Blends
from Bordeaux, France
winemaker's notes:
The Réserve Bordeaux Blanc is made of Sauvignon and Sémillon grapes, which are combined in a well-balanced way. They mainly come from the Entre-Deux-Mers region and the Côtes de Bordeaux.
THE VINEYARD
The prestigious Barons de Rothschild family has owned vineyards in Bordeaux for generations. In addition to the wines issued from their
world- renowned vineyards, Les Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) has been elaborating a range of wines which are easy and pleasant
to drink called "Réserves".
HARVEST & AGEING
Inspired by a grand tradition of quality, the Domaines teams have one priority: selection. Their mastery and perfect knowledge of Bordelais
cepages are responsible for the unparalleled quality of their wines. It was a rainy period during the flowering of the vines. As a consequence,
the yield of the 2003 vintage was lower than previous years and brought about concentrated wines. During maturation and harvest
the weather conditions were remarkable, producing perfectly ripe and healthy grapes. The harvests were spread out over the second week
of September.
WINEMAKER'S NOTES
Beautiful deep and brilliant pale yellow color. Powerful nose accompanied with citrus and mango notes. The slightly mineral feature is pleasant
and original. The harmony, volume and nice acidity in the mouth give freshness and vividness. A persistent and pleasant finish with notes
of white peaches.
