This wine is a wonderful Chianti Classico Riserva. This now takes the place of the Rocca della Macie Chianti Classico Riserva as my favorite Chianti. If you enjoy a dry red wine, and still like a touch of fruit, make sure to add this to your list. It was definitely an unexpected and pleasant surprise for myself.

Before the Chianti Classico Riserva, I would place the Brunello di Montalcino on the list of Banfi wines to drink. The Chianti, however, plays a strong supporting role to a well-seasoned steak. I am an amateur, but would describe the wine as initially crisp with a smooth finish. Similar tastes may be found in bottles of Rocca della Macie and Villa Antinori (of the same year). Good to the last drop!
