Had this by the glass at an unremarkable, cheap Italian restaurant. It was the only wine on the list that I felt would even appeal to me, but had never had it before. It turned out to be the best part of the meal. Very nicely balanced and paired superbly with the food. Definitely some varietal character of the Cabernet evident, but does not overpower the bright fruit from the Sangiovese. Nice and soft without mass-market sweetness. I was with enjoyable company so I thought maybe it was just one of those times when the wine tastes better because of it, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the scores on this wine over time are consistent and agree with what I experienced. For the price, this will be an excellent 'house' wine for weeknight dinners at home.
