winemaker's notes:

This 1997 Brut delivers one of the most concentrated and complex aromas yet in our Brut! Look for fresh applesauce, lemon custard, toasted baguette, and roasted hazelnut aromas. “Let us boast about the aromas of toast and roast from this bubbly from the coast!” The flavors are a creamy apple trimmed with the firm mineral acidity expected from a cool, maritime climate. The finish flavors last a long time and move from fresh apple to a spicy toastiness.

A Customer - Arlington
I first tried the Rose version of this sparkler about 10 years ago, on the recommendation of a friend who has never steered me wrong on wine. Pink Champagne??? Are you KIDDING ME??? But I was surprised and humbled to find this was a terrific champagnoise and I enjoyed it thoroughly, though I am not a big sparkler fan in general. Fast Forward: Bought two bottles of the brut (I believe this very vintage) more recently to celebrate the Patriots SuperBowl victory, and they tasted as good as the win itself !! I'm not a fan of sparklers, but this find from Oregon is definitely worth a try for your next special occasion.

wine.com Notes

Argyle has been making amazingly good champenoise style sparkling wines in Oregon since 1987 and this 1997 Brut continues the trend. Because the climate in certain parts of Oregon is comparable to that of Champagne, Arglye's sparkling wines share certain characteristics with Champagne (among them good natural acidity, a crucial element), while still retaining that delightful, appley fruitiness so often found in New World sparkling wines. A little bit toasty, a touch of lemon/lime citrus, and you have a great bottle of sparkling wine from one of America's premier bubbly producers.

Kosher
A Kosher wine begins like every other - as grapes on a vine. Once they reach the winery for crushing, the wine is under strict rabbinal supervision.

Screw Cap wine
Screw Cap
Many studies report and winemakers agree that screw caps protect wine better and preserve its flavor more effectively than cork. More importantly, screw caps eliminate cork taint caused by TCA, a compound which develops in a small percentage of corks and ruins the taste of wine.
