winemaker's notes:

This wine is perfumed and poignant; expressive in its floral qualities of violets and crushed rose petals, expansive in its character of black cherry, blue fruits, white peach, cocoa powder and marzipan. The palate is layered and lavish with a juicy succulence and notes of vanilla and nougat, chocolate and rosehips surrounding a vibrant cherry core. Refined and deeply appealing this wine shows great character now but if one is patient, more shall be revealed.

alcohol by volume: 14.5%
critical acclaim:

"Spicy, fruity and extremely youthful, this complex wine brings black cherry and cassis flavors with subtle notes of cola, licorice, allspice, sandalwood and pine needle. Still quite tight and primary, it has been beautifully sculpted into a focused wine with a long life ahead."

Wine Enthusiast

"Ruby-red. A heady, complex bouquet evokes candied dark berries, incense and lavender, along with suave vanilla and Asian spice qualities. Lush and seamless on the palate, offering open-knit black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors braced by tangy acidity. Closes on an intensely floral note, with excellent focus, energy and persistence."

International Wine Cellar

"Tangy, crisp and bright with lean, racy, pure cherry fruit; juicy, structured and smooth with finesse, elegance and power; refined and long."
