Amala Springs Sonoma County Zinfandel 1999
Zinfandel
from Sonoma County, California
winemaker's notes:
The 1999 Zinfandel is drawn from old vines in Sonoma County's Alexander Valley. With very low yields, these vines produce fruit of incredible concentration. The wine is fermented to dryness and allowed to age for 16 months in small oak barrels.
This rich and concentrated Zinfandel has layers of blackberry and plum fruit framed by firm tannins. Balanced by toasty French oak, the lush fruit flavors carry through in the finish.

We opened this wine for dinner, but it was gone before anything was cooked. Even those who dislike reds might find themselves asking for a full glass after a taste.
