Alois Lageder Pinot Grigio 2005
Pinot Gris/Grigio
from Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy
winemaker's notes:
Brilliant, straw yellow color with a green shimmer. Quit pronounced and expressive aroma, with flowery and somewhat spicy notes. Rich flavored in the mouth, buttery, with a slight smokiness at the back and a good, fresh finish. When properly cellared, this wine will drink well for 3 to 5 years.
Suggested Food: Starters (both fish or meat), patés and terrines, fish and shellfish, poultry, white meat and mushrooms.
"It's rare to find Pinot Grigio with this much delicacy to its varietal expression. This Lageder is spicy and tight, with lively grape skin flavors coming off the lees on which it is aged. Toasty and firm, the crisp, fresh finish will match polpo en brodo."
