Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The wine displays a brilliant straw yellow color with a green tint. Very fine, fruity (apples, peaches), forward varietal aroma. Pronounced, clean, elegant, grapey flavour, light to mediumbodied with a fresh mouth-watering finish. When properly cellared, this wine may be kept for at least 2 - 4 years.
Suggested food: as an aperitif, with starters, salads, asparagus, all kind of seafood and pasta dishes.

Critical Acclaim

"This wine's stony flavor carries a taste of spring, of snowmelt and crisp parsley. There's some fat to the texture, enriched by lees, cut by lemon. For pasta with clams"
88 Points

"The 2009 Pinot Bianco is a very pretty, stylish wine with gorgeous aromatics and expressive, generous fruit. Fresh, refined and polished throughout, this entry-level Pinot Grigio offers terrific quality for the money.

But true Pinot Blanc lacks most Chardonnay characteristics. The grape is most at home in Alsace, where it is used both in blends as well as a sole varietal. It's also found in Italy...
