Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

In the glass there are aromas of dark fruits with plum & red cherry along with nuances of spice and vanilla. This plush zin is round and full with jammy ripe flavors of cherry, black plum, black pepper, frozen strawberry and a touch of dried orange peel. The 2009 includes 4% Petit Syrah, adding inky dark color and broadening the mid palate.

Casual foods are the perfect match-think pizza or carry out from the deli, grilled burgers or ribs or even spicy tuna or seafood stews.
