winemaker's notes:

The 2006 Alamos Malbec presents a deep, opaque violet color with purple hues. The nose is intense and complex, with ripe black fruits, sweet spice and a touch of violets. The mouthfeel is sweet and supple, with black cherry and cassis flavors mingled with spicy black pepper and a touch of leather. The finish is long and persistent with soft, sweet tannins.

rating (9/29/2010):
Its very strong, rustic and different. It is made from grapes that are the same as in my Grampas backyard. Worth trying though.
rating (9/26/2010):
My current stint in South America has forced me to indulge in some young, but tasty South American wines. From Peru, to Chile, to Colombia you will find greater consistency with Argentine wines. Alamos amongst them. When given some time to breath both the Malbec and the Cabernet prove to be richly flavored treats to the palate.
rating (9/21/2010):
This is a good wine to go with a steak, but does not stand up to the drinkability of some other lower end malbecs. That said, I am certainly glad I had it, and I would suggest trying it to see if it's to your liking.
