"Eidos" are the backyard garden arbors constituting the traditional Albariño vineyard. Selected grapes from vines over 50 years are destemmed, crushed and macerated under temperature control for maximum aromatic extraction. Natural yeasts are encouraged for a prolonged fermentation, the wine bottled beginning in April following the vintage after extended contact with the fine lees. Richly textured and exotically intense Albariño, the salty sea breeze and granitic levels evident in a mouthwateringly mineral finish.
"Made from this estate's younger vines in Sanxenxo and fruit from neighboring growers, this is youthfully blunt and intensely flavorful. It has a distinctive, rosy red fruit character, hinting at persimmon, broadening to toasted almond and honey. The finish opens out and lasts. The wine already has intriguing resonance, and should only gain over the coming months in bottle."

"The 2008 Eidos de Padrinan Albarino was sourced from old vines on granite and raised sur lie for 7 months. It gives up aromas of mineral, sea salt, lemon, and floral notes. Vibrant on the palate, this savory, intense offering will drink well for another 2-3 years. "

"Pale gold. Racy lemon and green apple aromas give way to richer melon and peach with air. Smooth and gently sweet orchard fruit flavors are braced by a note of bitter lemon zest and show a talc-like mineral quality on the back end. Suavely blends energy and power, finishing with tangy citrus and succulent herb qualities."
