Acacia Desoto Vineyard Pinot Noir 1999
from Carneros, California
The structure 1999 DeSoto is impressive. The tannins are held in reserve by the modest acidity, the combined effect of which is like an enormous velvet curtain, monolithic in presence yet exquisitely soft. The flavors diverge from our expectation of Carneros Pinot Noir, showing tar, mushroom, tea and char. Bold flavors deserve recipes that are equally endowed. Grilled dry-aged beef parallels the flavors, and is worthy of the wine 's ample tannins. Cellar for three to six years.

A Customer - North Carolina
I had the opportunity to sample this wine in Los Gatos in North Central California. Both the 1999 and 2000 Pinot Noirs are cuurently drinkable and I highly recommend this wine. Will age well and be especially good in 2002 and 2003. The Carneros region is a really up and coming wine region in California.
