A. Mano Puglia Primitivo 2002
Primitivo
from Southern Italy, Italy
winemaker's notes:
Think of this wine as old vine Zinfandel at an amazingly good price! Hand-crafted from indigenous Primitivo grapes (the original source for Zinfandel by the way...) it burst with dark, spicy ripe fruit.

This wine is at the top of its price class. It's soft, chewy, and somewhat loose (yet not flabby). The wine is almost as relaxed as those consuming it will be.

Just had this wine with pasta, red saucce and Italian sausage to see it had enough complexity of the meal. It proved to be a great bargain. The winemaker's decription is accurate. It will definitely appeal to those who want a more spicey, chewy flavor beyond the abundant fruit. It should pair well with meats, pasta, pizza and most cheeses. Like its American cousin, Zin, it is food friendly.
