White Barrel Fermented Chardonnay

100% Chardonnay from Rutherford in Napa Valley. Barrel fermented in French oak. Ripe apple and melon with butterscotch and light toast aromas compliment rich mouth filling pear and caramel flavors.

Great balance with bright acidity are the trademark of this wine. It is barrel fermented in 25% new Franois Frres Burgundy barrels which frame the crisp apple and Asian pear flavors with a lovely savory, buttered toast finish.

This 2010 special bottling comes from Sanford's two best blocks (Wente and Clone 15), and are whole cluster pressed and barrel fermented. It was aged sur lie for 16 months in French oak; 60% new.This wine has aromas of guava, roasted nuts and lemon custard. The palate is dense but focused with a suave richness onthe mid-palate that leads to a deep and long finish.
