Red California Syrah

This grape is beginning to outshine all our other varietal reds because of its sheer deliciousness. Its color is dense, its perfume exotically floral and peppercorn-spicy, and its midpalate and finish stellar in containing all the most intense fruit Paso Robles can deliver. Framed well by mostly French barrels, our Syrah delivers great intensity and fine value.

Our 2009 Syrah is dense, ripe and rich with blueberry, cinnamon, pepper and toast.

Our Syrah displays rich blackberry, cassis, espresso, mocha and our signature sage spice aromas and flavors. The silky finish lingers from the ripe tannins and smoky oak. In 2002 we planted two Syrah vineyards, Rodgers Creek and Shanel, because we know the northern Rhone model, love it, and are convinced that cool-climate, coastal California Syrahs rival those of the Rhone. Not in the future, but now.
