Plush Shiraz Wine

The nose is full of the fresh berries and spice synonymous with McLaren Vale, with a slighteucalypt lift. Secondary characters of sarsaparilla, cinnamon and clove which are expressed more completely as the wine opens up. On the nose, plush blueberry and plum with just a hint of characteristically regional pepperand spice notes with subtle oak characters which impart a sweet, vanilla note. A dense yetsupple, harmonious wine palate. Lovely plush tannins, rounded texture with bright plummy,cherry fruit flavors and a clean finish with hallmark spicy lingering flavors.

St Henri is rich and plush when young, gaining soft, earthy, mocha-like characters as it ages. It is matured in old, 1460-litre vats that allow the wine to develop, imparting minimal, if any oak character. Although a small proportion of Cabernet is sometimes used to improve structure, the focal point for St Henri remains Shiraz.
