Bodegas Red Wine

Harvested from 60+ year old vines and aged ten months in French oak barrels, Bodegas Castano Solanera is a custom cuvee for Eric Solomon Selections. A blend of 65% Monastrell, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Garnacha Tintorera.

Wine defined and intense, deep red color and good intensity. Its small red fruit notes, plums and figs combine with aromas of vanilla and snuff delivered during aging in French oak. In the mouth it is with great personality, distinguished body, harmonious and sensual.

This peculiar soil and climate of Campo de Borja give this wine a special character. The grapes come from the best hillside vineyards planted with the oldest Garnacha vines.

In appearance the wine has a lively, very intense cherry color. There are iodine-purple hues in the fine top layer. Triton Mencia is a cherry color with violet. Mature fruit aromas. The palate is rich, powerful and balanced, slightly mineral. It is great on the palate with a pleasant finish marked by a good acidity.

This is a new wine from Jorge Ordonez from the region of Montsant with soils just like it's neighbor, Priorat. Zerran Tinto 2010 is made from Syrah and very old Garnacha vines and Carignan (aka Mazuelo) aged 16 months in French oak. The red has very concentrated black fruit flavors and overtones of crushed stone.

The 2011 Monastrell is a bright red cherry color of medium structure with purple reflections. Intense aromas of ripe red fruit (blueberry andraspberry). In the mouth it is silky, well structured and balanced.

A blend of 50% Tempranillo and 50% Malbec.

Brilliant red cherry with violet hues. Elegant aging aromas with fruity notes. It develops a good balance at the palate coming from the sweet and elegant tannins.Serve with cold starters, pasta and cheeses.

This Syrah is dry and mineral, with hints of black pepper, ripe red fruits and licorice. On the palate, it is pleasant and persistent, with balanced tannins that open up in a broad finish.

Paso a Paso Tinto is 100% Tempranillo sourced from vineyards averaging 40 years of age. The color is a saturated purple with fragrant aromas of mineral, scorched earth, and blackberry.

One hundred percent Tempranillo from the Pesquera clones planted in 1998. Purity of fruit accompanies concentrated texture and weight, with excellent balance and expression enhanced by two years in bottle prior to release.

The Honoro Vera Garnacha is a ripe cherry color. It has an intense nose with dominating notes of red ripe fruits, such as raspberry and red currant, balsamic sensations and mineral aromas. It is a fruity wine, very fresh and easy to drink.
