Aged French Wine

Harvested from 60+ year old vines and aged ten months in French oak barrels, Bodegas Castano Solanera is a custom cuvee for Eric Solomon Selections. A blend of 65% Monastrell, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Garnacha Tintorera.

A 100% Monastrell wine from the valley. This wine is fermented in steel tanks under temperature control with a soft maceration of skins. After the malolactic fermentation the wine is aged in French and American barrels for a short period (from 3 to 6 months) which gives the wine the fresh and fruity the character of the Monastrell.

This is a new wine from Jorge Ordonez from the region of Montsant with soils just like it's neighbor, Priorat. Zerran Tinto 2010 is made from Syrah and very old Garnacha vines and Carignan (aka Mazuelo) aged 16 months in French oak. The red has very concentrated black fruit flavors and overtones of crushed stone.
