2010 Coast California Red Wine

Our Cabernet Sauvignon highlights the perfectbalance between deep fruit flavors, earth andmineral. Aromas of blackberry, cassis and cedary spice reveal full flavors of plum, blueberry and blackberry with licorice and spice.

Intense garnet color. Shy aromas of dark cherry, violet, heather, and a hint of butterscotch. Big dark cherry, cola and earthy flavors with a savory minerality that belie the soft nose. Deep long finish with smooth tannins and seamlessly integrated oak.

Aromas of black currant/cherry with notes of cedar/vanilla. Flavors of currant and cherry with a plush structure and rounded tannins. Now, pop the cork, turn up Pink Floyd and enjoy the taste of The Dark Side of the Moon.

The 2010 Arnold Palmer Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of almonds and plump dark cherries. The flavors of the wine hint of mocha and spiced chai tea while filling the mouth with raspberry candy, dark chocolate, and espresso. The finishhas elements of dark fruit, integrated with an elegant and rounded tannin structure.

Winemaker David Guffy crafted the Hess Select Cabernet Sauvignon with notable richness, intensity and varietal character, showing jammy dark fruit aromas of Bing cherry with cedary barrel notes and a touch of spice. Traditional cabernet sauvignon aromas of black olive, cassis, plum and dried herbs. Completely committed flavors of cassis and plum, with a smooth and velvety texture, followed by a lingering and slightly toasty finish.

Aromas of dried plum and blackberry with the smoky spice of toasted vanilla fill the glass. The flavor follows; warm and mouth filling, kept in balance with fine grained tannins from both fruit and barrel. This long finish reflects the subtlety and elegance of Merlot as a varietal.

With the Merlot, I wanted to capture the essence or the attitude of the variety grown here in Mendocino County. Certainly a lot of flavors of black cherry, a bit of mint, and some apricot in there, so some interesting fun things, and certainly a little bit of cedar on the end of the whole wine.
